10.1
Overview
This chapter describes the Manual operation mode and how to execute simple
machining operations in this mode on a workpiece.
Short description
By traversing the reference marks on the encoder scales, you make it possible
to define an absolute position. When you have completed the reference mark
search in Manual mode, you then set the presets that will be used as the basis for
machining the workpiece in accordance with the drawing.
Position measurement and tool selection for simple machining operations are
described below.

Further information:
Presetting in the Manual Operation mode is required in order to use the
product in MDI mode.
The reference mark search does not need to be performed for serial
encoders with EnDat interface, because the axes are automatically
homed.
