Status Reporting

Status reporting is used to monitor the power meter to determine when events
have occurred. Status reporting is accomplished by configuring and reading
status registers.
The power meter has the following main registers:
– Status Register
– Standard Event Register
– Operation Status Register
– Questionable Status Register
– Device Status Register
There are other registers that exist "behind" the main registers, and are described
later in this chapter.
Status and Standard Event registers are read using the IEEE-488.2 common
commands.
Operation and Questionable Status registers are read using the SCPI STATus
command subsystem.

The General Status Register Model

The generalized status register model shown in
the SCPI status system. This model consists of a condition register, a transition
filter, an event register and an enable register. A set of these registers is called a
status group.
