15.2 GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem—The Battery Charge Indicator Light Does Not Come On When the Engine Is Not Running
The bulb is damaged.
The circuit is broken.
Problem—The Battery Charge Indicator Light Comes On When the Engine is Running
The poly-V belt is too loose.
The belt tensioner is damaged.
he poly-V belt is worn or damaged.
The alternator is damaged (has a damaged rectifier or
voltage regulator).

Remedy
Change the bulb.
Repair the break in the circuit.

Check the belt tension; if necessary, have an authorized
dealer replace the belt tensioner.
