To avoid scalding from the expulsion of hot coolant, never
remove the cooling system pressure cap while the engine
is at operating temperature.
clothing (face shield, rubber gloves, apron, and boots).
Remove the cap slowly to relieve pressure.
1. Drain the coolant from the radiator. Refer to section 4.1.1.
NOTE:
Clean the cylinder head cover before removing it.
2. Remove the cylinder head cover. Refer to section 1.1.1.
3. Remove the rocker arm assembly. Mark the valve bridges and pushrods in order of
removal. Refer to section 1.21.1.
4. Remove the engine trim cover to gain access to the fuel injector lines.
5. Remove the charge-air intake manifold. Refer to section 6.1.1.
