3. Remove the drive belt from the alternator, coolant-pump and idler pulleys. Be careful not
to kink, stretch, or otherwise damage the belt. See Figure 8-2.

4. Release the tensioner pulley.
5. Inspect the drive belt for nicks, wear, or other damage. Replace the belt if necessary.
6. Inspect the following parts and replace any that are damaged or worn:
vibration damper
alternator pulley
coolant-pump pulley
belt tensioner
tensioner pulley
idler pulley
