Use of parts of non-EPSON specifications, improper mounting, damage, distortion, dirt,
adherence of foreign matter?

*Main parts to check
SIZE SWITCH ASSY, MAIN P/H ASSY, REGI. SENSOR
CASSETTE SIZE ACTUATOR, END GUIDE, MCU PWB
*Engine and controller division check

Can a test print (single sheet / consecutive printing, about 10 sheets each) be performed
normally with the engine alone?
*Paper size check

Are you using the correct paper size in accordance with the specifications?

Is paper being supplied from the MSI tray?
*MSI paper size setting check

Does the paper size set by the DIAG tool or controller agree with the paper size set for the
MSI tray?
*Paper size detection mechanism check
Does the paper size set in the concerned tray agree with the ON/OFF combination of the 4
Paper Size Switches on the SIZE SWITCH ASSY?

• Make sure the TRAY SIZE ACTUATOR works together with the END GUIDE. Check if the
Cassette SIZE ACTUATOR pushes the Paper Size Switch in when the tray is mounted.
(The Paper Size Switch is pushed in if the paper has resistance when inserted on the
SIZE SWITCH ASSY from the rear.)
*Paper size check
Does the size of the paper mounted in the concerned paper cassette agree with the Paper

Size Switch data?
• By using the DIAG tool, check by Digital Input Test device code "02".
