24) Inspection of Drive Shaft
1.
Check drive shaft for bend and wear.
Replace if necessary.
2.
Measure drive shaft runout.
Runout Limit :
0.3 mm (0.012 in)
25) Assembly of Drive Shaft Parts
Attach pinion (B) gear nut 1 to drive shaft temporarily.

Install bearing 1 by using press.
2.
Before installing bearing, be sure to clean drive shaft
installation face and apply gear oil.
Bearing Install Tool 2 :
P/N. 3T1-99900-0
Do not press drive shaft thread a directly.
Put a piece of protector (steel plate) on the
tip of the shaft.
Refer to "Chapter 6 Shim Adjustment".
A nut that fits the thread can be used to protect
the shaft tip when pressing.
Install taper roller bearing 3 by using press.

Bearing Install Tool 2 :
P/N. 3T1-99900-0
Do not press drive shaft thread a directly.
Put a piece of protector (steel plate) on the
tip of the shaft.
Before installing taper roller bearing, be sure to clean drive
shaft installation face and apply gear oil.
