Apply a thin coat of Prussian Blue to the pinion gear
teeth.
Select the replacement shaft shim (page 14-10).
Install the shaft shim.
Install the case cover and tighten the bolts in a criss
cross pattern in several steps until the cover evenly
touches the gear case.
Install and tighten the tw o 10 mm bolts to the speci
fied torque in several steps alternately.
TORQUE: 47 N-m (4.8 kgf-m, 35 Ibf-ft)
Tighten the six 8 mm bolts to the specified torque in
a crisscross pattern in several times.
TORQUE: 25 N-m (2.6 kgf-m, 19 Ibf-ft)
Remove the oil fille r cap.
Rotate the ring gear several times in normal direc
tion of rotation.
Check the gear tooth contact pattern through the oil
fille r hole.
Contact is normal if the Prussian Blue is transferred
to the approximate center of each tooth and slightly
towards the face.
If the patterns are not correct, remove and replace the
pinion gear shim with a suitable one (page 14-15).
