MAINTENANCE
OIL CHANGE
S u p p o rt the m o to rc y c le secu rely an d raise th e rear
w h e e l o ff th e g ro u n d .
R e m o v e th e oil fille r cap and d ra in bolt/sealing
w a s h e r fro m th e final g e a r case, s lo w ly turn th e rear
w h e e l and d ra in th e oil.
A fte r th e oil is c o m p le te ly d ra in e d , install the d rain
b o lt w ith a n e w sealin g w a s h e r an d tig h te n it to th e
sp ecified to rq u e .
TORQUE: 12 N-m (1.2 kgf-m, 9 Ibf-ft)
Fill th e final g e a r case w ith th e re c o m m en d e d oil to
th e correct level (p a g e 4 -17).
OIL CAPACITY:
160 cm3 (0.17 US oz, 0.14 Imp oz) after draining
190 cm3 (0.02 US oz, 0.17 Imp oz) after disassembly

NOTICE
Spilled fluid can dam age painted, plastic or rubber
parts. Place a rag o ve r these parts w henever the
system is serviced.

w h e n fillin g th e reservo ir.
NOTE:
W h e n th e flu id level is lo w , check th e brake pads
fo r w e a r (p a g e 4 -20).
A lo w flu id level m a y be d u e to w e a r o f th e brake
pads. If th e brake pads a re w o rn and the calip er
pistons are push ed o u t, th is accounts fo r a lo w
reservoir level. If th e brake pads are not w o rn
and the flu id level is lo w , check th e en tire system
fo r lesks (p a g e 4 -20).
