CYLINDER HEAD/VALVE
Turn the crankshaft clockwise and align the "RT"
m ark (front cylinder: "FT" mark) w ith the index
notch on the alternator cover.
Make sure the piston is at TDC (Top Dead Center) on
the exhaust stroke so the piston is at TDC on the
com pression stroke when rem oving the cam shaft
holder.
M easure the cam chain tensioner wedge B length as
shown.
SERVICE LIMIT: 6 m m (0.2 in)
Replace the cam chain w ith a new one if the projec­
tio n exceeds the service lim it.
For the cam chain replacement, rem ove the fo llo w ­
ing:
Front:
- Front cam shaft
- Cam dam per (page 11-66)
Rear:
- Rear cam shaft
- Flywheel (page 12-5)
Install the 2 m m pin into the cam chain tensioner
Be careful net to let
w edge A hole w h ile pulling the wedge A straight up
