HFT INITIALIZATION (TCM RESET)

• Always initialize the HFT after any of the follow ­
ing services, which alter the phase of swash
plate and swash plate angle sensor, have been
performed:
- HFT removal/installation
- TCM replacement
- Swash plate angle sensor removal/installation
• Before HFT initialization service, check the fo l­
lowing:
- If the shift indicator
appropriate troubleshooting procedure
- Inspect the battery voltage and check it the cor­
rectly
- Warm the engine to the normal operating tem­
perature before HFT initialization service
INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Wait fo r 4 minutes.
3. Remove the pillion seat (page 3-4).
4. Remove the dum m y connector and short DLC
terminals using the special tool.
TOOL:
SCS connector
Connection: Brown - Green/yellow
NOTE:
• Be sure to wait fo r more than four minutes after
STEP 1 before perform ing STEP 5, or HFT initial­
ization w ill fail.
