FUEL SYSTEM (PGM-FI)__________________________

FUEL FLOW INSPECTION

Remove the seat (page 3-4).
Turn the ig n itio n sw itch OFF.
Open the fuse/relay box and rem ove the fuel cut
relay.
J u m p the te rm inals o f the w ire harness side using a
ju m p e r w ire as show n.
Relieve the fuel pressure and disconnect the quick
connect fittin g (page 6-37).
• Place an approved gasoline container and drain
the gasoline.
• W ipe o ff spilled gasoline.
Place the end o f the hose into an approved gasoline

container.

Turn the ig n itio n sw itch ON, engine stop switch "O"
fo r 10 seconds.
Measure the am ount o f fuel flo w .
TOOL:
Hose attachment, 8 m m /9 m m
A m o u n t o f fuel flo w :
189 cm3 (6.4 US oz, 6.6 Im p oz) m in im um
/10 seconds a t 12 V
If the fuel flo w is less than specified, inspect the fo l­
low ing:
- Fuel pum p (page 6-41).
- Clogced fuel filte r (Assem bly o f the fuel pum p:
page 6-41)
Connect the quick connect fittin g (page 6-38).
