Heplace th e O sensor w ith a new one.

Clear the DTC.
Start the engine and w arm up the engine until
the coolant tem perature is 80 °C (176 °F).
Test-ride the m otorcycle.
Check the O sensor w ith the HDS pocket tester.

Is th e DTC 21-1 in d ic a te d ?
NO - Faulty o riginal O
YES - Check the fuel supply system.

to r and recheck the DTC.
1. O Sensor Heater System Inspection

Reset the DTC (page 6-13).
Start the engine and check the 0
w ith the HDS pocket tester.
Is th e DTC 23-1 in d ic a te d ?
YES - GO TO STEP 2.
NO - • Loose o r poor contact on the O
sor 4P (Black) connector.
• In te rm itte n t failure.
2. O Sensor Heater Resistance Inspection

Turn the ig n itio n sw itch OFF.
Disconnect the O sensor 4P (W hite) connector.

Measure the resistance at the O
(W hite) connector te rm inals o f the sensor side.
CONNECTION: W h ite - W hite
Is the resistance w ith in 10 -4 0 Q (20°C/68°F)?
YES - GO TO STEP 3.
NO - Faulty O sensor.

Turn the ig n itio n sw itch ON then m easure the
voltage between the O
nector o f th e w ire harness side and ground.
CONNECTION: B la c k /w h ite (+) - G round (-)
Does th e b a tte ry voltage e x is t?
YES - G O TO STEP 4.
NO - Open circu it in the Black/white w ire.
