HFT
SYSTEM OVERVIEW
This motorcycle uses the HFT in a powertrain. The HFT is an infinitely variable automatic transmission device that shifts
the transm ssion and transmits power by converting the engine power into hydraulic pressure.
In addition to the automatic transmission function, the HFT also includes following components:
• Starting clutch
- It operates according to engine speed
• Lockup mechanism
- It improves the transmission efficiency at higher speeds
• N/D (neutral/drive) clutch
- It shifts between neutral or drive mode
The HFT is not rebuildable, however its associated components are. Should troubleshooting procedures indicate a damaged
HFT, replace the entire HFT.
