DTC TROUBLESHOOTING

DTC 8-1 (TP SENSOR LOW VOLTAGE)
1. TP Sensor System Inspection
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch " O " .
Check the TP sensor w ith the HDS with the throt­
tle fully closed.
Is about 0.5 V indicated?
YES
NO
2. TP Sensor Inspection
Turn the ignition switch ON.
Check the TP sensor w ith the HDS with the PGM-
FI system.
Is DTC 8-1 o f th e PGM-FI system indicated?
YES
NO
3. TP Sensor Output Voltage Line Inspection
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the following:

Check for continuity between the engine sub
harness 20P (Black) connector terminal and TCM
33P (Black) connector term inal of the main wire
harness side.
Connection: A10 (Red/yellow) - Red/yellow
TOOL:
Test probe
Is there c o n tin u ity ?
YES
NO
4. TP Sensor Output Voltage Line Short Circuit
Inspection
Check for continuity between the ECM 33P con­
nector terminal of the wire harness side and
ground.
Connection: A10 (Red/yellow) - Ground
TOOL:
Test probe
Is there co n tin u ity ?
YES
NO

- • Interm ittent failure.
• Loose or poorly connected TCM con­
nector.
- GO TO STEP 2.
- Inspect the TP sensor trouble shooting

- Open circuit in Red/yellow wire.
