M e a s u re th e tre a d d epth at th e c e n te r o f th e tires.
R eplace th e tires w h e n the tre ad d epth reaches th e
fo llo w in g lim its.

S u p p o rt th e m o to rc y c le securely an d raise th e fro n t
w h e e l o ff th e g ro u n d .
C heck th a t th e h a n d le b a r m o ves fre e ly fro m side to
side. M a k e sure th e control cables do not in terfe re
w ith th e h a n d le b a r rotation.
If th e h a n d le b a r m o ves u n even ly, binds, o r has v e r­
tical m o v e m e n t, inspect the steerin g h ead bearin g s
(p a g e 15-25).
C heck fo r steerin g stem bearings by g ra b b in g th e
fo rk legs and a tte m p tin g
to side.
R eplace th e b e a rin g s if anv looseness is n oted (p ag e
15-25).
