SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING
When the m otorcycle has one o f these sym ptom s, check the DTC or MIL blinking, refer to the DTC index (page 6-14) and
begin the appropriate tro u b le sh o o tin g procedure. If there are no DTC/MIL blinking stored in the ECM m em ory, do the diag­
nostic procedure fo r the sym pto m , in sequence listed below , u ntil you fin d the cause.

Diagnosis procedure
1. Crank the starter fo r m ore than
ten seconds and check the DTC
(page 6-12) and execute the
troublesho oting according to
the DTC.
2. Inspect the fuel supply system
(page 6-37).

m alfunction (page 6-69)
2. Inspect the fuel supply system

1. Check the idle speed.
2. Check the IACV.
3. Inspect the fuel su pply system
(page 6-37)
Check the PAIR system (page 6-71).
Check the ignition system.
Inspect the fuel supply system
(page 6-37).
Troubleshoot the M IL circu it (page
6-36).
Check the D LC circuit (Brow n w ire)
fo r short circuit.
FUEL SYSTEM (PGM-FI)

- Faulty fuel pum p

• IACV stuck
• Faulty ig n itio n system

ground w ire o f the ECM
• Faulty bank angle sensor o r related circuit
• Faulty FI/IGN relay o r related circu it
• Faulty engine stop switch o r related circuit
• Blown STARTER/IGN fuse (10 A)
• Restricted fuel feed hose
• C ontam inated/deteriorated fuel
• Intake a ir leak
• Faulty IACV
• Restricted fuel tank breather hose
• Faulty ig nitio n system
• Faulty pulse secondary a ir injection (PAIR)
system
- Faulty PAIR control solenoid valve
