TOOLS:
Interior cutter, 30 mm (IN)
Interior cutter, 26 mm (EX)
Cutter holder, 5.5 mm
U sing a 4 5° seat c u tte r, cut th e seat to th e p ro p er
w id th .
M a k e sure th a t all pitting and irre g u la ritie s are
rem o v e d .
NOTE:
• Excessive lap p in g pressure m a y d e fo rm or d a m ­
a g e th e seat.
• C h an g e th e a n g le o f lapping to o l fre q u e n tly to
p re v e n t u n e v e n seat w ear.
• L apping c o m p o u n d can cause d a m a g e if it enters
b e tw e e n th e v a lv e stem and g uid e.
A fte r cu tting th e seat, apply lap p in g c o m p o u n d to
th e v a lv e face, and lap the v a lv e using lig h t pres­
sure.
A fte r la p p in g , w ash an y residual c o m p o u n d o ff th e
c y lin d e r head and valve.
Recheck the seat contact after lapping
