ENGINE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

ENGINE REMOVAL

Drain the engine oil (page 4-12).
Drain the coolant from the system (page 7-6).
Disconnect the CMP sensor 2P (Black) connector
(page 6-65).
Remove the fo llo w in g :
- Throttle body (page 6-54)
- Rear insulator (page 9-13)
- Spark plug caps (page 4-7)
- Exhaust system (page 3-16)
- Radiator (page 7-10)
- Starter m o to r (page 21-6)
- Right shroud (page 3-8)
- Left shroud (page 3-8)
- R ight under cow l (page 3-11)
- Left under cowl (page 3-11)
- Right side cover (page 3-14)
- Left side cover (page 3-15)
- Oil filte r (page 4-12)
- PAIR control solenoid valve (page 6-72)
• W ith the ig n itio n sw itch OFF, disconnec: the bat­
tery negative (-) cable (page 19-6).
• Seal the cylinder head intake ports w ith tape or a
clean cloth to keep d irt and debris fro m entering
the intake ports.
Remove the bolts and left step bracket.
Loosen the band screws and disconnect the w ater
hoses.
