Automatic or scheduled firmware upgrade

When you configure the RLC to perform an automatic or scheduled firmware
upgrade using the Auto Upgrade Configuration property sheet, the RLC queries
the predefined TFTP server and upgrades the firmware automatically. Refer to
"Auto upgrade configuration" on page 222 for further details.

Nortel recommends the following when performing an automatic or scheduled
firmware upgrade:
1 Complete the procedures in "Before you begin" on page 291 prior to
configuring the automatic or scheduled upgrade.
2 Complete the procedures in "Creating a backup configuration file" on page
240 before performing an automatic or scheduled firmware upgrade.
Note: The automatic or scheduled firmware upgrade only performs upgrades on
the Remote Gateway 9100 Series units you configure on the Auto Upgrade
Configuration property sheets. In order for the automatic or scheduled firmware
upgrade to complete, place the ro-ver.txt file in the same TFTP server directory
as you place the .upg file.

USE CAUTION WHEN FORCING THE AUTO UPGRADE
PROCESS AS THE SYSTEM PERFORMS A SELF-RESET ON
ALL UNITS TO MAKE THE NEW FIRMWARE ACTIVE ONCE
THE DOWNLOAD OF NEW FIRMWARE IS COMPLETE.
