Upgrading Communication Manager on Avaya S8700 Media Server from R1.x to R3.1
Busying out MMI circuit packs with SAT for a duplicated control
network only

CAUTION:
Multimedia-to-voice station calls are not preserved on an upgrade. If you do not
CAUTION:
busyout the TN787 Multimedia Interface (MMI) circuit packs, the TN787 and
TN787 Multimedia Voice Conditioner ports cannot be used.
To locate all the MMI circuit packs that need to be busied out:
1. Type display system-parameters customer-options. Press Enter.
2. Under the Multimedia Call Handling (MMCH) options, select Basic and Enhanced fields.
3. If either the Basic or Enhanced field is set to y, type list configuration all. Press
Enter to locate all MMI (TN787) circuit packs.
4. If MMI circuit packs exist, type busyout board UUCSS where UU is the cabinet, C is the
carrier, and SS is the slot.
5. Press Enter for each MMI circuit pack.

Checking for translation corruption

To check for translation corruption:
1. Type newterm. Press Enter.
2. If you see the following message:
Warning: Translation corruption detected . . .
then follow the normal escalation procedure for translation corruption before continuing the
upgrade.

Accessing the media server maintenance web interface

To access the media server:
1. Start the Web browser.
2. In the Address field, type 192.11.13.6. Press Enter to open the login Web page.
