Migrating a DEFINITY Server CSI in a CMC to an S8500 Media Server
Migration tasks
You can reuse the translations from the existing system when you migrate to an S8500 Media
Server.

Changing the control cabinet to a port network
To change the control cabinet to a port network (PN):
1. Remove the TN798 or the TN2402 Processor circuit pack. Replace the TN2182 Tone Clock
circuit pack with a TN2312BP Internet Protocol Server Interface (IPSI) circuit pack.
2. Connect a CAT5 straight-through cable from the IPSI to the media server through the
customer network.
