ip name-server command
The ip name-server command is used to set the domain name servers the switch uses to
resolve a domain name to an IP address. A switch can have up to three domain name servers
specified for this purpose.
The syntax of this command is:
ip name-server <ip_address_1> ip name-server <ip_address_2> ip name-
server <ip_address_3>
Note: To enter all three server addresses you must enter the command three times, each with
a different server address.
The following table outlines the parameters for this command.

This command is executed in the Global Configuration command mode.
no ip name-server command
The no ip name-server command is used to remove domain name servers from the list
of servers used by the switch to resolve domain names to an IP address.
The syntax for this command is:
no ip name-server <ip_address_1> no ip name-server [<ip_address_2>]
no ip name-server [<ip_address_2>]
Note: To remove all three server addresses you must enter the command three times, each
with a different server address.
