4.25 ARP Inspection

ARP inspection filters unauthorized ARP packets on the network. The IES can discard ARP packets
with invalid MAC address to IP address bindings. This prevents many common man-in-the-middle
attacks where attackers use ARP spoofing to insert themselves into a traffic stream such as in the
following example.

Click UP to go back to the previous screen.
Do the following to copy settings from one port to another port or ports.
1. Select the Select radio button of the port from which you want to copy settings
2. Click Copy.
3. Select to which line card you want to copy the settings.
4. Select to which ports on the line card you want to copy the settings. Use Select All to
select every port. Use Select None to clear all of the check boxes.
5. Click Apply to paste the settings.
This field displays the number of the DSL port.
This field displays the number of broadcast packets the interface should accept per second
(0~262143).
This field displays the number of multicast packets the interface should accept per second
(0~262143).
This field displays the number of unknown unicast packets the interface should accept per
second (0~262143). A dash appears if there is no limit.
Select the radio button of the port from which you want to copy settings. A dash appears
if there is no limit. A dash appears if there is no limit.
