CYLINDER HEADIVALVE
VALVE GUIDE REPLACEMENT
NOTE:
Aeface the \'alve seats whenever the valve
guides are replaced.
Heat the cylinder head to 100°C (212°F).
CAUTION,
Do
not use
Q
torch to heat the cylinder. it
may cQuse warping.

handling lhe heated cylinder head.
Drive out the old guides from the combustion
chamber side of the cylinder head.
Drive in new guides from the rocker arm side of the
cylinder head.
NOTE:
Cylinder head heat should still
be
at 100°C
(212°F)
for
installation of the new guides.
Ream the new guides to finished size using a reamer.
NOTE·
Use cutting oil on reamer during this pro-
cedure.
It
is important
that the reamer aways
be
rotated in the cutting direction when
it
is
inserted or removed.
Clean all cutting residue out of the valve guides.
