Before installing pistons. apply a coat of oil to ring
grooves, cylinder bores, and rod bearings.
Carefully install the piston rings onto the piston.
NOTE:
All rings should be installed with the markings
toward the top of the piston. After installa-
tion they should be free to rotate in the
piston ring grooves.
Stagger the piston ring end gaps 120
0
apart.
Stagger the oil ring and side rail end gaps as shown.
