FINAL DRIVE INSTALLATION
Lubricate the splines of the drive shaft and oil seal
with molybdenum disulfide grease.
FINAL DRIVE

Insert the drive shaft into the pinion joint until the
stop ring seats in the pinion joint spline grooves.
NOTE:
Make sure that the stop ring is seated
properly by pulling on the drive shaft
lightly.
Be careful not to damage the drive shaft
oil seal.
PINION JOINT
DRIVE SHAFT
Attach the gear case onto the swing arm loosely.
NOTE:
To ease axle installation. do not tighten the
gear case nuts until after the axle is installed.
Install the rear wheel and tighten bolts and nut
(page 12·13).
Then, tighten the final gear case nuts.
TORQUE: 24-30 N·m (2.4-3.0 kg·m. 17-22 ft-Ibl
