ALTERNATOR/STARTER CLUTCH/REAR ENGINE COVER
DAMPER SPRING CASE

DRIVEN GEAR
Inspect the 1.0. of the driven gear and sliding
surface of the damper spring case for excessive
wear or damage.
Rotate the shaft by hand and check for play in
the bearing.
Replace the bearing with a new one if it is noisy
or has excessive play.
Press the shaft with a hydraulic press until the shaft
and damper spring case are clear of the shaft holder.
NOTE:
The shaft ball bearing must be replaced with
a new one whenver the shaft is removed from
the case.
