Serial Ports

The Octane2 workstation serial ports can operate in one of several modes:
• RS-232 electrical levels with a standard PC pinout.
• Macintosh-style electrical levels and a Macintosh-compatible pinout (This mode
requires an additional adapter cable. See "Serial Port Adapter Cables" on page 235).
• ANSI/SMPTE 207M electrical levels and pinout (This mode requires an additional
adapter cable. See "Serial Port Adapter Cables" on page 235).
The following diagram shows the PC-compatible pinout. The range of supported baud
rates is 300 baud to 460K baud.
