6 Preparing the product for use
6.1 Charging the battery
The following information is found in the instructions for use of the respective batteries or elbow
components:
Handling the battery
Querying the charge level
Feedback (beeps and vibration signals)
6.2 Adjusting the electrodes
The ideal position of the electrodes is determined with the 757M11=X-CHANGE MyoBoy, see
647G265=ALL_INT instructions for use.
Program 1, 5 and 6:
Select the desired program variant in the PAULA program. Adjust each electrode so the patient
can hold the respective muscle signal above the HIGH value for about two seconds (see fig. 7,
(1)).
Program 2:
Select the desired program variant in the PAULA program. Adjust each electrode so the patient
can hold the respective muscle signal above the LOW value for about two seconds (see fig. 7,
(2)).
Program 3:
In the PAULA program, select the SensorHand Speed in the AutoControl mode. Adjust the elec­
trode so the patient can hold the muscle signal above the ON value for about two seconds, see
fig. 8.
Program 4:
In the PAULA program, select the SensorHand Speed in the VarioControl mode. Adjust the elec­
trode so the patient can hold the muscle signal above the HIGH value for about two seconds, see
fig. 8.
INFORMATION
Only one muscle signal can be viewed with programs 3 and 4, see fig. 7 and see fig. 8.
6.3 Control programs
Six programs are provided for optimal adaptation to the patient. These programs are selected
using coding plugs of different colours (see fig. 4).
The SensorHand Speed is equipped with a black coding plug and preconfigured with program 1
at the factory. When the black coding plug is used, the programs are selected with the 757T13
MyoSelect.
Adjusting the speed of the SensorHand Speed with the 757T13 MyoSelect can be carried out
with any coding plug; see the 647G131 instructions for use.
Changing the coding plug, see fig. 4
1) Remove the lock ring.
2) Push the inner hand back so the control electronics are exposed.
3) Change the coding plug.
4) Push the inner hand forward.
5) Install the lock ring.
6) Remove and reinstall the battery.
INFORMATION: This causes the control device to recognise the new coding plug.
