Port Security Port Settings

Use the following window to implement the port-security settings on the
port specified and display its settings.
Choose Security > Port Security > Port Security Port Settings to display
the following window.
In the section of Port Security Port Settings, you can configure the
following parameters.

Choose the port you use.
This parameter enables or disables a port-security
function on the port specified.
Enter the maximum number of secure MAC addresses
to permit on the port (s) specified. The range is from 0
to 3,328. By default, the value is set to 32.
Choose the violation action to conduct. The options
available are as follows.
• Protect - Although all the packets are deleted from
the host, which is insecure as the port security
process level, the security-violation count is not
increased.
• Restrict - All the packets coming from the host,
which is insecure as the port-security-process level,
are deleted. The security-violation count is increased
to be recorded on the system log.
• Shutdown - If a security-violation occurs, the port
becomes shut down to be recorded on the system-
log.
