Adjusting the Height of Cut

1. Lower the mower to the 3" (76mm) height-of-cut
position.
2. Position the left blade front-to-rear (Fig. 721).
3. Measure the left blade at the A location, from a
level surface to the cutting edge of the blade tip and
record this measurement (Fig. 721).
4. Position the right blade front-to-rear (Fig. 721).
5. Measure the right blade at the C location, from a
level surface to the cutting edge of the blade tip and
record this measurement (Fig. 721).
6. The measurement between location A and C needs
to be within an 1/8" of the 3" (76mm) height-of-cut
setting. If it is not correct, proceed to the following
steps.

blade to a hard surface

2. Measure at A & C
7. Loosen the jam nuts at both ends of the turnbuckle
(Fig. 722).
Note: The end of the turnbuckle with the groove
machined in it has left hand threads (Fig. 722).
8. Adjust the turnbuckle to raise or lower the deck
height to achieve 3" at locations A and C.
9. Tighten the jam nuts at both ends of the turnbuckle.
