Keyboard
The keyboard/language settings made for the computer running the Remote
Console application are automatically inherited. Select Start - Settings -
Control Panel - Regional and Language Options - 'Languages' tab - 'Details'
button - 'Settings' tab, somewhat, depending on the windows version.
On the rear side of the main screen unit a USB socket is provided for con-
necting a USB computer keyboard. For this keyboard the language settings
made with the configuration tool under User GUI... – Settings – Keyboard
Layout are valid. English US, Danish and French (Belgian) are provided
for selection, independent of the physical key layout. In this way, some
extended functions are available, such as expanding/collapsing items in the
configuration menu tree with the arrow keys, or copy/paste using the standard
keyboard shortcuts Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V (this is very convenient when entering
multiple, similar labels or user names) – exactly as known from Windows
operation. Please note that the /Shift and Caps Lock functions of screen
and USB keyboards are independent; this is very important when entering
passwords since these are case-sensitive.
A channel screen module can be installed above each fader module or rotary
module. The channel screens have a touch-sensitive TFT display that is
the base of the patented 'Touch'n'Action' philosophy. The channel screens
always maintain system overview and allow fast access to parameter settings,
while the main screen is used for parameter entries and administration func-
tions.
Each channel has its own, vertically oriented channel field, the look of which
depends on the input type (mono/stereo/mic) routed to this channel. The cur-
rent audio settings are displayed clearly and in color. If e.g. an AUX send level
is set to –6 dB but the AUX channel is off, then the channel screen shows the
audio send level to the respective AUX bus in gray instead of in orange (as
shown for Aux 1 and Aux 2 of the TEL 1 channel in the screenshot above).
This helps to quickly find out what really happens within the console.
