Backup/Restore: allows backup and restore of system configurations. For
backup/restore operation from the desk GUI, see also
Backups are organized in a hierarchical file structure.
The Backup Root path can be specified in the Configuration Tool. This allows
the user to save backups anywhere.
The product folder contains all backups of a certain product. It allows the
user interface to hide all backups of other products while only displaying the
backups that belong to the product-type of the current system.
Backups are always created into their product folder.
A product folder is automatically created the first time when a backup of the
corresponding product is created.
For each product, there are different software versions. Since the Restore
function only allows backups to be restored to a system running the same
software version, backups of each product are arranged by software versions.
Backups are always created into the software version folder of the software
release running on the current system.
A software version folder is automatically created the first time when a backup
of a product with the corresponding software version is created.
Within a certain software release of a product, backups are arranged by the
DNet system name to make them easier to find.
The folder name is the DNet system name as defined in the OALaunch.
