4-18 Operating Elements
The rotary module consists of six columns with four rotary encoders each
(two of them shown in the illustration on the left). Each rotary has an LED
ring and two keys. To each row of rotaries a function can be assigned with
the rotary assign module described below. There, a 4-digit display shows the
corresponding parameter currently active in each row. The rotary module will
be used where more functions need to be accessed in a fast way by dedicated
operating elements, such as in production applications.
The
and
key functions depend on the selected parameter and can be
e.g.:
Auxiliary functions, such as AF/PF switchover.
On/Off or Enter
When touching one of the rotary knobs, the exact value of this specific encoder
within the rotary module matrix is displayed in the corresponding 8-digit
display of the channel strip.
The rotary assign module allows selection of the parameters for the four
columns in the rotary module (see 4.6 above). The desired combination of
functions may be configured to the keys using the Configuration Tool. All
keys have transparent snap-on caps for convenient labeling.
Examples of available rotary assign functions:
• EQ gain (gain setting for all four EQ bands)
• EQ HF (all parameters for the HF EQ band)
• EQ HMF (all parameters for the HMF EQ band)
• EQ LMF (all parameters for the LMF EQ band)
• EQ LF (all parameters for the LF EQ band)
• AUX 1...4 (level, AF/PF, on/off)
• N–X 1...4/5...8/9...12/13...16 (level, AF/PF, on/off)
• Compressor with gain setting (without attack time setting)
• Compressor with attack time setting (without gain setting)
• Limiter (all parameters)
• Expander (all parameters)
• Gate (all parameters)
• De-esser (all parameters), or
• Input/output functions (input select, calibration/mic gain, phantom power,
N–X master, pan/bal)
Pressing one of these keys transfers the corresponding functions to the rotary
module's rotaries and their related keys.
