14.8 Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) Commands

This section describes the commands you use to view and configure BGP, which is an
exterior gateway routing protocol that you use to route traffic between autonomous
systems. The BGP CLI commands are available in the 7300 Series Managed Switch
software BGP Package.

14.8.1 router bgp

Use this command to enter Router BGP mode. The
autonomous system (AS) number, which is a number from 1 to 65535. Each AS typically
encapsulates a single IGP routing domain.

Indicates whether the RIP interface is up or down. This is a
configured value.
The RIP Authentication Type for the specified interface. The
types are none, simple, and encrypt. This is a configured
value.
A number which represents the metric used for default routes
in RIP updates originated on the specified interface. This is a
configured value.
The number of RIP response packets received by the RIP
process which were subsequently discarded for any reason.
The number of routes contained in valid RIP packets that
were ignored for any reason.
The number of triggered RIP updates actually sent on this
interface.
