13.5 Operation of Remote-control Transmission Frequency
Generator
The remote-control transmission frequency generator (when serving as the 6-bit PPG)
can generate a remote-control transmission frequency of the specified cycle and "H"
width.

Figure 13.5-1 shows the settings required to operate the remote-control transmission frequency
generator as the 6-bit PPG.

When remote-control transmission frequency output is enabled, the 6-bit counter starts counting
from "00
"H" level until the counter value reaches the value compared for "H" width. The counter then
maintains the RCO pin at the "L" level until the counter value reaches the value compared for
cycle. When the values match, the 6-bit counter is cleared and restarts counting from "00
Since the "H" width and cycle can be set independently, the remote-control transmission
frequency generator can be used as a 6-bit PPG.
