MB89120/120A Series Features

The MB89120/120A series are single-chip general-purpose microcontrollers.
The microcontrollers contain a variety of peripheral functions such as timers, serial
interfaces, an A/D converter, and an external interrupt as well as a compact instruction
set.

Minimum execution time: 0.95 µs (at 4.2 MHz source oscillation)

Instruction set optimized for controllers
• Multiplication and division instructions
• 16-bit arithmetic operations
• Branch instructions by a bit test
• Bit manipulation instructions, etc.
Dual-clock control
• Main clock: 4.2 MHz max. (Capable of selection from among 4 different speeds. Stops
oscillation in subclock mode.)
• Subclock: 32.768 kHz (Operation clock in subclock mode)
Four types of timers
• 8/16-bit timer/counter (Two 8-bit channels or signal 16-bit channel)
• 21-bit timebase timer
• Watch prescaler (15 bits)
Serial interfaces (Serial I/O)
Switchable transfer direction (MSB first or LSB first) allows communication with various
equipment.
Remote-control transmission frequency generator (only in the MB89120A series)
Allows selection between the pulse width and cycle by means of software.
External interrupt
• External interrupt 1 (3 channels)
Three channels are independent and capable of wake-up from low-power consumption
modes (with an edge detection function).
• External interrupt input 2 (Single 8-input channel only in the MB89120A series)
