10.3 External Interrupt Circuit 1 Pins

This section describes the pins and pin block diagram of the external interrupt circuit
1.
External Interrupt Circuit 1 Pins
The external interrupt circuit 1 uses P34/TO/INT0, P35/INT1, and P36/INT2 pins.
P34/TO/INT0 pin
The P34/TO/INT0 pin serves as a general-purpose I/O port pin (P34), 8/16-bit timer/counter
square wave output pin (TO), or as external interrupt input (hysteresis) pin (INT0).
The P34/TO/INT0 pin disables square wave output of the 8/16-bit timer/counter depending on
the timer 1 control register (T1CR). When set as an input port pin by the port direction register
(DDR3), this pin function as an external interrupt input pin (INT0). If interrupt request output has
been enabled by the external interrupt 1 control registers 1 and 2 (EIC1 and EIC2), however,
the pin does not output any interrupt request. The pin state can be read from the port data
register (PDR3) at any time.
P35/INT1 and P36/INT2 pins
The P35/INT1 and P36/INT2 pins serve as general-purpose input port pins (P35, P36) or
external interrupt input (hysteresis input) pins (INT1, INT2).
The P35/INT1 and P36/INT2 pins function as external interrupt input pins (INT0 to INT2) when
the pins are set as input port pins by the port direction register (DDR3). If external interrupt
request output has not been enabled by the external interrupt 1 control registers 1 and 2 (EIC1,
EIC2), the pins do not output any interrupt request.
The pin states can be read directly from the port data register (PDR3) at any time.
Table 10.3-1 lists the pins related to external interrupt circuit 1.

Table 10.3-1 External Interrupt Circuit 1 Pins

External interrupt

P34/TO/INT0
P35/INT1
P36/INT2
INT0 to INT2:
When used as an external interrupt input
(interrupt request output enabled)
INT0 (EIC1: EIE0 = "1", DD3: bit 4 = 0, T1CR:
T1OS1, T1OS0 = 00B)
INT1 (EIC1: EIE1 = "1", DD3: bit 5 = 0)
INT2 (EIC2: EIE2 = "1", DD3: bit 6 = 0)
The external interrupt circuit generates the interrupt request corresponding
to the pin when an edge of the specified polarity is input.
