Caution: Make sure that the thumbwheel door is closed after filament pre-load is
accomplished.
Close the thumbwheel door.

The Load Material (up arrow) button should be selectable for all materials needing to be loaded.
Press the Load Material button corresponding to the material canister you want to load.

Note: Only one material can be loaded at a time.
Model and support materials must be compatible. If a selected material is
incompatible with a loaded material, a material mis-match load error will occur
and the selected material will not be loaded. See
material compatibility information.

Material begins to load to the liquefier; the canister status LED flashes green. The material's
status is updated to "Loading" and the pathway displayed between the canister's material icon
and the corresponding tip icon becomes highlighted to indicate load progress (see
on page
74). "Loading" is also displayed within the Information Bar.
The head warms up to the material operating temperature (automatic - based on canister memory
chip data). This step also sets the oven temperature to the correct value for the material being
loaded. (See
The drive motor starts to push filament to the liquefier tips.
For some materials, the order of these steps is reversed.
When filament reaches the head, it enters the liquefier tip and the tip purges a small amount of
material.

Once material is loaded, the canister status LED is solid green and the material's status is
updated to "Loaded".
If you changed material type, you must also change tips. See

CANISTER INSTALLATION
The process for installing a new, unopened canister varies slightly from the process for installing a previously
used canister. The following instructions will guide you through the process of installing a canister, noting the
steps which only apply to new (unopened) canisters. Refer to
1.
For new, unopened canisters:
A.
Remove the canister from its packing container.
B.
Peel back the foil tape (item 1) on the side of the canister.
C.
Remove and discard the anti-rotation plug (item 2).
D.
Reseal the canister hole with the reusable foil tape by pressing it firmly against the canister
to establish an airtight seal.
