– Pull support ring -5- and distance ring -3- onto the injector
-2-.
– Before installing injector -2-, moisten new O-ring -4- with clean
engine oil.
Note
The combustion chamber sealing ring -1- must not be oiled.
– Press the injection valves by hand up to the stop into the hole
of the cylinder head (free of oil and grease). Pay attention to
the correct position of the injection valves in the cylinder head.
Note
The injectors must fit easily. If necessary, wait until the width
of the combustion chamber sealing ring has reduced suffi‐
ciently.
Pay attention to the correct seating and fitting position of the
injection valves in the cylinder head.
The electrical connection of the injector must reach into the
recess provided in the cylinder head.
– Install fuel distributor
⇒ "4.2 Removing and installing the fuel distributor",

.
– Installing the intake manifold
⇒ "3.2 Removing and installing intake manifold", page 241
– Connect vehicle diagnosis tester and perform Targeted Func‐
tion "delete injector adaption values" ⇒ Vehicle diagnostic
tester.
– Switch off ignition.

Clean injection valves

Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Ultrasonic cleaning device - VAS 6418-
♦ Feeder plate for injection units - VAS 6418/1-
♦ Cleaning fluid ⇒ Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts"ETKA"
Note
The ultrasound device must be filled with cleaning agent up to
the top edge of the holes.
Observe the safety and operating instructions of the ultra‐
sound device.
