Functional Description

Refer to Figure 5-7
DS1 signals in SF (D4) or ESF format with or without B8ZS zero suppression. The
input circuits provide DC blocking and transformer isolation for balanced AMI
signals. The termination is user-selectable for 100 ohm (line) or 3.3k ohm (bridging)
at levels of +3 to –24 dBDSX (line). The module monitors and reports occurrences
of loss of signal (LOS), alarm indicator signal (AIS), out of frame (OOF), and bipolar
violations (BPV). In ESF mode the module also monitors and reports CRC errors,
and the synchronous quality level SSM messages in the FDL channel.
