2.5.8 CARDCAGE PANEL SKIN

The cardcage skin is on the right-side of the projector. Service being performed on this side of the
projector, is typically done by removing the cardcage; therefore, there is no need to remove this skin
unless it is damaged and requires replacement.
(25 minutes)
1. Remove top lid. Refer to
2-10.
2. Use a #2 Phillips™ to remove the 2 screws at
each corner of the skin and the 2 screws above
the cardcage faceplate (Figure 2-7). NOTE: To
avoid stripping the 2 screws on the faceplate do
not apply more than 1.5 inch-lbs of torque when
re-fastening.
3. Use a 4mm Allen™ key to remove the 5 socket
head capscrews along the bottom edge of the
skin (Figure 2-7).
4. Pull the cardcage out and lift the skin to clear the
lip.
5. Pull the cardcage panel skin forward and out.
6. Reverse the above steps to reinstall.
NOTE: Ensure the front and rear corners interlock before reinstalling screws.

2.5.9 EXHAUST PANEL SKIN

The exhaust panel skin is located on the left-side of the projector and contains an access panel, which
can be removed separately for easy access to the cooling system and optical components.
(30 minutes)
1. Remove top lid. Refer to
2-10.
2. Use a #2 Phillips™ to remove the 2 screws at
each corner of the skin (Figure 2-8).
3. Use a 4mm Allen™ key to remove the 5 socket
head capscrews along the bottom edge of the
skin (Figure 2-8).
4. Pull the skin forward and out.
5. Reverse the above steps to reinstall the skin.
NOTES: 1) Ensure the front and rear corners
interlock before reinstalling the screws. 2) To
remove the access panel separately loosen the 2
captive screws securing it to the skin.
