2.8.11 LVDS CONNECTOR CABLE INSERTION

IMPORTANT! If the red and green cables become damaged the light engine must be removed and
the new cables attached to the engine before replacing. Any time LVDS cable swapping is performed
as a troubleshooting step, the swap must occur at the FFIB board, not at the satellite boards.
When connecting the LVDS connectors to the satellite board and FFIB it is essential they are
connected properly to avoid damaging any of the pins on the 30-pin connectors. The harnesses must be
inserted straight into the connectors (Figure 2-68, left) and not on an angle (Figure 2-68, right).
Failure to properly install the LVDS connectors results in formatter failure.
