Description
Use the description command to change the description of the current interface.
Use the undo description command to restore the default.
The default description of an interface is the interface name plus Interface, GigabitEthernet2/0/1
Interface for example.
Related commands: display interface.
Examples
# Change the description of interface GigabitEthernet 2/0/1 to lanswitch-interface.
<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] interface gigabitEthernet 2/0/1
[Sysname-GigabitEthernet2/0/1] description lanswitch-interface

display interface brief

Syntax
display interface [ interface-type [ interface-number ] ] brief [ | { begin | exclude | include }
regular-expression ]
display interface [ interface-type ] brief down [ | { begin | exclude | include } regular-expression ]

Parameters
interface-type: Specifies an interface type.
interface-number: Specifies an interface number.
down: Displays information about interfaces in DOWN state and the relevant causes.
|: Filters command output by specifying a regular expression. For more information about regular
expressions, see CLI Configuration in the Fundamentals Configuration Guide.
begin: Displays the first line that matches the specified regular expression and all lines that follow.
exclude: Displays the lines that do not match the specified regular expression.
include: Displays all lines that match the specified regular expression.
regular-expression: Specifies a regular expression, which is a case sensitive string of 1 to 256
characters.
Description
Use the display brief interface command to display brief interface information.
If neither interface type nor interface number is specified, this command displays information
about all interfaces.
If only interface type is specified, this command displays information about interfaces of the
specified type.
If both interface type and interface number are specified, this command displays information about
the specified interface.

# Display brief information about all interfaces.
