Description
Use the sme enable command to enable Layer-2 communication between the ONUs attached to the
OLT port.
Use the undo sme enable command to disable Layer-2 communication between the ONUs attached
to the OLT port.
By default, Layer-2 communication is disabled between the ONUs attached to the OLT port.
Note that:
With Layer-2 communication enabled between the ONUs attached to an OLT port, all ONUs
attached to the OLT port can communicate with each other at Layer 2.
With Layer-2 communication enabled between the ONUs attached to an OLT port, if you create an
ONU port on the OLT, the ONU connected to the new ONU port can communicate with any ONU
attached to the OLT port at Layer 2.
Examples
# Enable Layer-2 communication between the ONUs attached to OLT 3/0/1.

Syntax
using onu { onu-number1 [ to onu-number2 ] } &<1-10>
undo using onu { onu-number1 [ to onu-number2 ] } &<1-10>

onu-number1: ONU port number, in the range 1 to 64.
to onu-number2: Specifies an ONU port range. onu-number2 is an ONU port number, in the range 1 to
64.
&<1-10>: Indicates that you can specify up to 10 ONU port numbers/port ranges.
Description
Use the using onu command to create virtual ONU port(s) for the current OLT port.
Use the undo using onu command to remove the specified ONU port(s) under the current OLT port.
By default, no ONU port is created for any OLT port when the EPON card is started up.
