TRANSFER CASE

(5) Coat new lockplate attaching bolts with Loctite

271, or equivalent adhesive sealant.

(6) Install and tighten lockplate attaching bolts to

30 foot-pounds (41 N«m) torque.

Bearing/Bushing Replacement

CAUTION: All of the bearings used in the transfer

case must be correctly positioned to avoid covering the

bearing oil feed holes. After replacing any bearings

check the bearing position to be sure the feed hole is not

obstructed or blocked by the bearing.

Rear Output Bearing and Rear Seal Replacement

(1) Remove bearing retaining snap ring and tap

bearing out of retainer using mallet or brass drift.
