4 Preparation for Operation (Startup)

4.1 Overview

After you have unpacked, positioned and connected the module (→ sections 3.1 through
3.4, page 37 and following pages), prepare the module for operation:
1. If the RSLCnano system includes a SRD-3x00 Solvent Rack
Connect the 15-pin D-Sub port on the rear of the Solvent Rack with the Solvent Rack
port on the rear of the module (→ page 25).
2. If you want to connect a mass spectrometer to the module
Connect the Digital I/O port on the rear of the module with the appropriate port on the

3. Connect the solvent reservoirs (→ page 62).
4. Connect drain tubing (→ page 65).

6. Turn on the power to the module (→ page 85).
Operating Instructions
The module is filled with 2-propanol when being shipped from the
factory. During initial operation of the module, make sure that the
solvents used are miscible with 2-propanol. Otherwise, use an
appropriate intermediate solvent.
