7.4.3 Cleaning the Detector Electrodes

The detector electrodes can be contaminated by deposits impairing the correct functioning
of the seal wash system.
1. Remove the seal wash tubing from the detector (→ Fig. 61).
2. Remove the detector from the drain port of the seal wash system by pulling the
detector upward. (The detector cable remains connected in the pump.)
3. Clean the electrodes with distilled water and wait until they are dry. The electrodes in
the detector are critical for proper operation. Therefore, be careful not to bend or
otherwise damage them during cleaning.
4. Reinstall the detector.
5. Connect the seal wash tubing to the inner port (→ Fig. 61). The outer port has no
function.
