7.7 Flow Meter

7.7.1 Replacing the Flow Meter

Description
ProFlow flow meter, with
thermal flow sensors for nano LC (50 – 1500 nL/min)
Classic flow meter, with
flow selector for capillary LC (0.5 - 10 µL/min)
Classic flow meter, with
flow selector for micro LC (5 - 50 µL/min)
Important:
Important:
1. Turn off the module by pressing the power switch on the rear of the module.
2. Unplug the pressure transducer cables.
3. Disconnect the capillaries connected to the flow meter inlets and outlet.

4. Loosen the two screws that attach the flow meter and pull the flow meter out toward
the front.
5. With Classic flow meters only
Replace the flow selector if required (→ page 204).
6. Install the replacement flow meter in the reverse order.
Be careful not to pinch any tubing.
7. Turn on the module by pressing the power switch on the rear of the module.
Messages relating to the working pressure may appear on the pump display; these
messages can be ignored.

To avoid damage from electrostatic discharge, wear appropriate
earthing protection for the replacement procedure.
